Sedgefield's Krugerand

Situated on gently rolling hills in the quiet countryside between the horse meccas of Louisville and Lexington, Aurora Farms spans over a hundred acres of lush pasture surrounded by mature shade trees. Experienced, live-in staff provide around-the-clock care customized to every horse, regardless of their needs. Whatever stage of life your horse is in, from birth to retirement, you will enjoy peace of mind when you trust them to Aurora Farms.

Personalized Care and Exceptional Facilities

Aurora Farms offers oversized 16 x 16 stalls with soft horse mattresses and excellent ventilation, covered turnouts, private pastures, run-in shelters with fans, and round pens. An automatic watering system provides heated water in winter.

Our location provides us with easy access to equine hospitals for emergencies, and our concierge veterinarian is on call 24/7/365. We are also home to a state-of-the-art laboratory to speed test results, and a semen collection and analysis lab.

Newly built rehab facilities include a climate-controlled padded stall with lift system and IV capability, and Aurora maintains secure video surveillance in every stall and covered area, in addition to a front security gate on the property, requiring coded access for after-hours entry.

“Melody Adler at Aurora Farms is the only one I trust implicitly to ensure that my horse receives quality care without my intervention. She has the knowledge, the resources, and the facility to ensure the best care of the most “needy” of horses. My thoroughbred thrived at her farm. I am eternally grateful to Melody for helping Slew acclimate to retirement so that he can live a long, happy life, just being a horse.”

Testimonials

“My first foal born (at Aurora Farms) became a Stakes winner and broke a track record in California. I knew he had a great start. Melody Adler’s care is wonderful. She pays attention to details and is up on all the newest and latest in horse care, nutrition, foaling, ailments of foals, and everything concerning each horse as an individual. Her dedication is unsurpassed in my book.”
